Under The Radar: Nerves Junior

Apparently I missed the memo from Pretty Much Amazing giving this album top honors of 2011, but I’m on board now. Nerves Junior – from Louisville (what up EO!) – released their debut album As Bright As Your Nightlight last year on SonaBLAST! Records. Listeners have compared them to Radiohead, which is a lofty comparison, but these guys are legit. The album’s first track “Champagne and Peaches” takes a page right out of the “Airbag” book during the guitar interludes. “Swimmer’s Ear” is a fuzzy, sinister track that sounds a bit Damon Albarn-y at times. The title track and “Kale” and others not to be missed.

You can preview the whole album at their bandcamp website and buy the whole album for only $8. Check the video for “Swimmer’s Ear” below and take the jump for a couple more tracks.
