Hooray For Earth – True Loves

Hooray For Earth is a NYC indie-electronic band led by Noel Heroux. The group’s history goes back to 2005, but they’ve just this year released their first full-length LP, True Loves, following last year’s Momo EP. The debut album is right on point for summer listening with mid-tempo 80s new wave-y sing-a-longs like the title track and the second single “Sails”. However, the strongest track may be the album closer “Black Trees”, which starts out with heavy drums and some eerie effects, then beautifully eases into the rhythmic chorus before an awesome drop into the verse. Check out the video for “True Loves” and listen to “Sails” and “Black Trees” below.

Oh, and they’re playing at Local 506 in Chapel Hill on September 26th. Damn September is going to be awesome in the triangle!
