Set:  Soulshine, Dusty Groove, Miracles, Thermal Bad, Fast Man, You’ve Got It All, Make Me Proud, San Frantico

Drawing comparisons to funk legends, The Meters, The New Mastersounds are a 4-piece nu-funk outfit hailing from Leeds, England.  The band consists of Eddie Roberts (guitar), Pete Shand (bass), Simon Allen (drums), and Joe Tatton (Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes).  They joined forces in 1999, and have recently taken the festival scene in the US by storm with their upbeat style and ass-shaking grooves.  Upon initial listen, it’s hard to believe that these guys aren’t from New Orleans…  Hell, they could’ve been the ultimate backing band for James Brown had they been around 40 years ago.  Amazon has their three most recent albums available for only $7.99.  Check ’em out, and make sure you have a cute dance partner close by.
