Help Rebuild The Georgia Theatre

It’s been a year since flames gutted the Georgia Theatre. After a year of raising over $160,000, they are close to securing financing and beginning the real work of restoration.  Check out their group on Facebook here for more information on the rebuilding process, how to donate, etc.

As part of the anniversary of the fire, The Georgia Theatre will be auctioning items salvaged from the ashes like singed band posters and marquee letters, as well as items given by artists like Widespread Panic’s original master tape of their first demo recorded at the Theatre. Bid on a piece of history for the sake of the future, and to give you a little sense of history behind the legendary venue, here are two shows from deep in Panic’s archive, nearly 20 years ago…
