Massive Flood Damage at Soundcheck Studios in Nashville

Over the weekend of May 1-2, 2010 world renowned studio and vintage equipment storage center, Soundcheck Studios, in Nashville, TN suffered massive flood damage.  Anybody that is somebody in the music business had equipment – guitars, amps, pianos, drums, etc. – stored there.  It is estimated that millions of dollars worth of rare and vintage equipment was lost.  To help the flood victims of Tennessee, you can donate through the Red Cross, text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the relief fund, or donate at Second Harvest Food Bank.

This breaks my heart and makes me sick to my stomach.  I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why they would put a massive complex like this near a river in a questionable flood plane susceptible to natural disasters.  Let’s just hope that they had flood insurance to help cover the damages, but most of the equipment that was housed there was priceless.  Take a look at some of the instruments that were lost after the jump.
