What started out as a local promotional tool has turned into an all-out party celebrating the business and culture of over 1,000 independently owned record stores nationwide.  This Saturday, April 17th, over 600 artists will participate in Record Store Day with activities ranging from in-store signings, to intimate performances, to the release of rare and exclusive CDs, vinyl, and DVDs in limited quanities only available on Record Store Day.  Also, many artists will be releasing exclusive digital downloads on their websites.  Find out what’s going on at a record store near you, get out of the house this Saturday afternoon, and go discover some new music!!

Several record stores that we frequent here at The Sound Medium will be featured including Lunchbox Records in Charlotte, CD Alley in Chapel Hill, and Schoolkids Records in Raleigh.  Click here to find stores in your area nationwide.
